Posing possibilities!

Posing has always been one of the most important role in Gunpla. Without a great pose, a model is pretty much expressionless! And as requested by my friend, I decided to write on this topic before taking a break for my exams!

What does it comes to your mind when it comes to posing? How do you want to pose your models and make it stand out from others? For me, I think that a model with great articulation will be the best choice! The model does not need to have too much gimmicks, just a plain simple, well articulated model will do. The angle of posing is also very important as well, I am certain that you do not want your model to look so awkward in a great pose yeah?

For a standing pose, instead of having the model to stand so upright and awkward, try making it more dynamic!

The head can be looking down, staring angrily at something. Spread the arms and legs apart, bend the arms a little and there you have it!

For a ground pose, instead of having just the rifle up, pointing at something, you can have the shield ramming at something, or even make use of the waist articulation and have it shooting something behind!

For aerial poses, a action base really helps the model to get the pose you desired. With the action base, almost any poses you want can be done, just let your creativity run wild! ^^

Make use of every single thing the model have. Be it the weapons, articulation, gimmicks or even the story behind the model, they can be really helpful for posing!

Although SDs are not as articulated as HGs or MGs, they can be really good at posing as well!

Aiming down at the barrel, charging with the sword, or even pointing the sword arrogantly at something, a SD kit can do it as well!

So yeap, there are endless possibilities of posing your models!

Be it a riding pose...

A simple patrolling stance...

Standing upright...

Or even a flying stance, these poses can look great and really stand out from other models by adding a little creativity to it!

MG Super Gundam- Get!

Thanks a lot to my cousin, I manage to get this old Master Grade kit! It was really kind and wonderful of him to give me such a huge gift during the Lunar New Year, and well, despite being a pretty old kit, the contents are still in perfect condition! ^^

Haha, and because of this kit, Kakuka Virsago's post might not be up so soon. But still, I will try to complete it as soon as possible. Hmm... there are too many kits waiting for me to be built and I do not have the time at all!

As soon as you open the huge box, you will get a lot of trees, a few dry and water decals and a very traditional instruction manual. ^^ Like many older Master Grade models, there will be a cardboard insert inside the box, showing a picture of the completed kit in all its glory!

As the kit includes parts for both the Gundam MK-II and the G-Defenser to form the Super Gundam, there are really a lot of trees and parts which also includes a huge polycap tree. ^^

Like all MG kits, the instruction manual have a very plain cover with the mecha's head printed on the front. There will also be several diroma showing the model and some painting guides. Other than that, older Master Grade kits' manuals have really odd instruction guides. There will usually be a column on the left of the manual, listing down all the parts to be build first which will be use later. However, they are all in Japanese and sometimes, I will try to figure what the guide is showing all about. O_O

Anyway, I had already completed the upper body of the MK-II and I got to say that I am pretty satisfied so far. The arms have great articulation and the cockpit opens up with no problem at all. So yeah, I will be working on the MK-II and Kakuka for now.

And lastly, thanks alot to my cousin again for this great gift! ^^

SD Kakuka Virsago- Get!

Got this small little kit back last week while getting stuff for the upcoming Lunar New Year. ^^ I am now waiting for my Senjin Gasshin Shu Gundam, Emperor Sonken and the Seven Swords/G that I had already reserved at Hobby Point. But for now, this SD will keep me busy. ^^

The box might be small but the kit is packed with so much gimmicks that I cannot help but to keep full marks for its playability! However, some parts from this kit isn't that great. Some are too tight while others are pretty loose. Especially the fan and the swords, the handle is too thick for the hands to hold. I guess some sanding might work... Anyway, I had already snap fitted this kit, and everything seems to be looking great!

Advisor mode I guess? The effects of the cape looks awesome. ^^

Commander mode! ^^

And of course, its infamous Demon mode!

From all its modes and stuff, there are so many parts to be work on, and well, the instructions of all its modes can just barely be fitted into its manual!

Anyway, I have already started some painting on it already. I wanna finish it before school starts again. ^^

Toys from the past!

I was packing my room last weekend when I found many great old toys I got back when I as a kid. And well, before getting into Gundam models, I collected quite a variety of toys. They include, Lego, action figures, cars and even plush toys. Some of them are still one of my favourites even till today. ^^

I have been a big fan of Ultraman ever since I was a kid. For some reasons, they look really cool and thier shows are great! Haha!! I collected quite a bunch of figures of them. However, I guess some of them were already in the bin during the last few packing attempts.

Other than those action figures, I collected some other stuff related to Ultraman too. They include the fighters shown in the series and even some spin-offs by Bandai!

All these toys are already almost a decade old already and they are still awesome!

I collect cars too for some reasons. I remember I have a few racing tracks for those cars but I just can't find it.

What's more, I even collected the toys from McDonalds!!

Haha, Snoopy looks great. ^^

I have some Pokemon figures too but I am only left with these two now. Gengar looks awesome with his clear body and his evil smile.

Other than those mentioned above, I have Megazords from the Power Rangers and even Mighty Beans! Haha, I still keep them today and I gotta say that those toys are really enjoyable during my childhood days. ^^

So yeap, that's all for this short post...

HGUC Unicorn Gundam (Destroy mode)- Completed!

Phew! Finally completed this kit. It had been a pretty hectic week in school. I'm so busy that I barely have enough time for Gunplas. Haha, anyway, lets get to the kit now!

The design of the destroy mode has always been one of my favourites. It is very unique and amazing. ^^ Like what I heard somewhere before, I agree that the Unicorn's destroy mode is much more realistic than Celestial Being's suits going Trans-Am. The Unicorn armour just opens and reveals sparkling pink parts instead of the whole suit glowing in red.

The head of the Unicorn is really cool. It has a clear pink piece inside the head which can be seen from the vents and the chin. ^^ And this time, I hand painted the eyes rather than using stickers as I accidentally screwed the sticker up. But still, I'm pretty satisfied with the look of the eyes.

The torso does not resemble any other ones from a Gundam. Instead of the traditional red, blue and white, The white armour split open to reveal clear pink pieces inside. Very nice. ^^

The arms are better than the previous Unicorn in its unicorn mode. For some reasons, the one from the unicorn mode has a very loose joint and it tends to split apart when rotating it side to side. However, this does not happen for this guy. The arms are solid and because of the transformation, the beam sabers on the side of the arms can be rotated down to be beam tonfas!

The front skirts for the waist are rather dissapointing to me. I always thought that the armour pieces will pop out to reveal those pink parts, however, they are just flat there. The thrusters on the back skirts are also pretty loose. They are secured there but with just a little push to it, the whole thruster goes hidden in the back skirts.

The legs on this guy are really tall. It increases the height of the Unicorn and well, those knees look awesome!

I tried painting those beam saber holders and thrusters with grey and a tinge of blue to it. However, those parts still look grey to me. Still, the backpack looks really great with those armours and pink parts inside.

For accessories, this kit came with a simple beam rifle, an ammo pack, a shield and 4 beam saber holders. However, there are no beam effect parts for this kit at all.

For some reasons, the barrel of the beam rifle looks unusually long to me. O_O

The shield is really different form the usual shield designs from previous Gundams. The white armours slide open and reveals clear pink pieces resembling an "X". Well, I got to say that this is really one of the greatest shield design ever!

Those beam parts are from the Unicorn mode and well, this guy looks really great with his sabers. I guess Bandai wants the people to buy the unicorn mode to get these beam parts. Another evil money-milking scheme!

The twin beam tonfas look really cool. With this, this guy wields 4 beam sabers in total. He is surely not one that you can mess with!

The comparision between both Unicorns shows that there's really a great difference in terms of hieght. Just look how tall the destroy mode is! What's more, it is quite hard to believe that they are actually the same suit. Just look at the design of both suits!

Total pwnage! O_O

So yeah that's all for this post! This kit is really great! However, because of its price, people might think twice before getting it. O_O But still, it will not dissappoint you. I'm really satisfied with it and I finally got the two Unicorns! Now, all is left is the SD one. I will be waiting... ^^

Gunplas for 2009!

Haha, I know it is already quite late to post this since 2009 is already over, but I can't just help to do so. 2009 has been a great year for Gundams and Gunplas. It marks the 30th anniversary for Gundam, and then the end for the second season for Gundam 00 and the start of Sangokuden Gaiden!

Other than then, Sangokuden series 3 has also reached its climax which resulted in the great amount of new Sangokuden kits Bandai released in a month.

As 2009 is the 30th anniversary for Gundam, Bandai offered many great promotions for their kits.

1) Clear files!
2) MG Clear part Campaign!
3) HGUC Gundam 30th ver.!
These are all what I can remeber. And well, how can we forget the giant 1/1 statue of the grandaddy Gundam! It is just spectacular but too bad, it had been removed. That's a pity.

Gundam 00

For Gundam 00, the kits released during 2009 are mainly on the mechs from the second season. The HG line for the 00 series is just great. Gaddesa, Garazzo, Gaddess, 0 Gundam, Reborns, Arche and etc. These kits have such awesome engineering to them that they even surpass certain old MGs!

SDs aren't that bad too. SD 00 Raiser is pretty cool, but SD 0 Gundam just brings the line to another level. For the 1/100 scales, I don't really think the Designer's colour version kits was a great idea. The LEDs are okay, but those dry decals might be a pain to put them on for beginners. Other than that, I think the release of these designer's colour version kits just pisses off those people who bought the original release. Despite that, the release of MG Exia and it's ignition mode counterpart just boosts the 00 series.

So overall, the kits from 00 are doing just great! I'm really looking forward for the kits from the movie. However, the next big thing will be the HG 00 Gundam 7 Swords/G which will be release next month! I'd already seen pictures of it and I am really impressed.

High Grade Universal Century

HGUC kits are improving greatly too! Some of the kits now rely on the polycaps from the HG00 kits while the others just does not use any polycaps at all! Therefore, these kits are starting to have MG-like articulations and even details that are just awesome! However, with all that features, the HGUC kits are staring to get a lot more expensive than before. Many HGUC kits now range from 1800 yen to 2100 yen. Hmm.... that's a problem already.

However, with the start for the new anime for the Unicorn series this year, I doubt the HGUC line will slow down in the near future. ^^

Master Grade

MG kits really shined last year. Although I did not get any MGs last year, there are really great releases like the Exia, Blue Frame 2nd Revise, Guntank and the recent Victory Gundam Ver. Ka! The version 2.0 kits for the mechs ffrom the 0079 line are really great too. For a HG and SD modeler like me, releases like the Gouf and GM really made my hand itching for a moment. Other than that, the re-released kits like Hiyaku-Shiki HD ver. and the Shin Musha with his display stand is also awesome. What's more, like I said previously, the on-going MG clear part campaign have realeased almost 30 kits already. Wow...

Super Deformed

It's pretty obvious that Bandai is focusing on the Sangokuden line when it comes to the SDs. There are some huge releases last year for Sangokuden like the Mokaku set, Koumei Nu and even the giant Senjin Gasshin Shu Gundam set which was released last month. However, with the addition of the Gaiden and the Sengokuden series, the original Sangokuden just can't help but to be pushed aside sometimes. I'm neither a fan of the Gaiden series nor the Sengokuden series, but some of those kits do impress me too.

I never had a Sengokuden kit before. Instead, I went for the Gaiden line. I wasn't going crazy when the series was first announced because of the kiddy-like look of the model and the reusing of parts. But still, I got my hands on Ryuuho, Shuutai and Yue Jin. They are pretty good but not the best, still it adds as a great kit to your collection.

SDs are now more to mushas and are driving away from normal mobile suits. However, the upcoming SD Unicorn surely is highly anitcipating, I will look out for that!

For me, I got my hands on many kits. They are all really great too!

HG 00- GN Archer, Gadessa, O Raiser, Seraphim Gundam, Garazzo, O Gundam Type A.C.D, Arche Gundam, Ahead Smultron, Exia Repair II, Susanowo, Arios GNHW/M, Gaddess, O Gundam, Reborns Gundam, Trans-Am Raiser and Masurao.

HGUC- RX-78-2 Gundam G30th, Full Armour Gundam 7th, Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn mode) and Nu Gundam.

SDs- Full Armour Gundam, Perfect Gundam, OO Raiser, O Gundam Type A.C.D, Exia Repair II, RX-78-2 Gundam G30th, Guntank and Turn A Gundam.

So yeah, that is all for the kits that I got last year. It's quite a huge amount of kits there. I might wanna cut down Gunpla expenses these year!

For my unbuilt kits, I'm still left with SD Taishici, SD Shuutai, HG Reborns, HG Arios GNHW/M, HGUC Zaku II, HGUC Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode) and King Kero Robo.

It's already quite a pile of boxes even when the Unicorn and the Zaku II is not there!

Testing Gold!

I've been searching for a gold colour which is shiny and quite rich in yellow. However, the best I can find in shops so far is the aqueous hobby paint version which is still not what I'm looking for. Therefore, I decided to try using clear yellow as a coat, going over different types of gold paints and even silver to get the best result of a shiny gold. ^^
Here, I use my Burst Ryuubi as the guinea-pig. ^^

So here it is, the linings are still quite messy here though. Anyway, the overall look is pretty nice to me, however, the V-Fin looks too bright and it doesn't really fit the entire look of the colour scheme. ^^; Anyway, lets get to the details. =)

1) For the collar, I used the gold aqueous hobby color as a base coat and go over it with clear yellow. Pretty nice and is also close to what I'm searching for.

2) For the vents and the fancy designs around the body, shoulders and stuff, I used the gold from the Mr.Metal series and go over it with clear yellow. It's okay to me, but is not what I'm looking for.

3) The whole body is painted with the gold from the Mr.Metal series while the lines at the tip of the front skirts are painted using the gold from the aqueous series. The "V" on the waist is painted using Gundam Marker.

1) The swords are being painted using the same gold from Mr.Metal and being coated with clear yellow which gives off that same honey-mustard colour previously.

2) The gold for the fancy dragon designs on the swords are actually from Gundam Marker. ^^

1) The dragon on the forhead is being painted with the same old gold from Mr. Metal. A coat of clear yellow then goes over it.

2) The V-Fins are painted using silver from the aqueous line, a few coats of clear yellow then goes over it. Hmm.... looks more like metallic yellow to me.

3) The jewel, like the collar mentioned previously, is painted using the gold from the aqueous line and coated with clear yellow.

So yeah, that pretty much concludes this post. However, I had forgotten to test the gold from Mr. Color and the brass from the Mr. Metal line. Haha, I might try them out next time. Anyway, here's a preview for what's coming next!

HGUC Unicorn Gundam (Unicorn Mode) and HG Masurao- Completed!

Just finished Masurao yesterday! I've already completed the Unicorn before the holidays end, but I never had the time to post it. Anyway, I've decided to combine these two posts into one just to save time. ^^
Lets start with Unicorn first! For some reasons, I added weathering to it and well, the end results are pretty good. ^^

For accessories, the kit comes with a hyper bazooka, 4 beam sabers and one shield. The beam magnum isn't inculded as it's already in the destroy mode release of the unicorn.

The bazooka is really solid. It helps the Unicorn to pull off some really awesome poses too. ^^

What's more, the bazooka can be stored on the backpack. The ammo pack can also be stored on the back skirt armours.

The kit comes with four beam saber handles, but there are only 2 beam effect parts. Therefore, only the ones on the backpack can be used. The ones in the arms will only be in used in the destroy mode.

The shield has lots of details underneath it, and well, it really makes the Unicorn looks a hell lot better with it. ^^

Overall, this kit is another must-get. It's just too great. Great design, great accessories, great kit. ^^ However, the only flaw is that the joints on the arms are really loose. Just a little fiddling on it and it comes apart. But still, despite that, it's really good. Get the destroy mode too they will be great add-ons to your collection. ^^

That's all for Unicorn. Now, lets get to Masurao! This Samurai-looking flag suit has always been one of my favourite mech in the series. For this kit, I only did some linings and painted some parts yellow. Simple yet awesome! =D And if you think this kit is just a simple recolur, then you are wrong! This kit comes with new joints for the side skirts and new open palms and a close fist. The head ornament, and even the tri-punisher is also different!

For the accessories, Masurao comes with its trademark twin beam kantanas, called Howard and Daryl. The names are actually Mr. Bushido's (Graham's) late comrades. They were both killed by Celestial Being, so maybe that's why Mr. Bushido has such a grude against them .O_O

The cannon in the torso is being sealed up. No more tri-punisher for Masurao. =(

A new open palm is added to the left hand to recreate his trademark pose. ^^

Like Susanowo, a beam chakram can be added to the head. However, I didn't took a picture of it as it's still unpainted. Hahas.

Anyway, that's all for Masurao. If you haven't get the Susanowo, get this!

Triple Gattai!

Phew! It's finally friday. I've been pretty busy since school reopened, which resulted in the shortage of posts. Anyway, here's some pictures of Keroro's new robo which I'd created while messing around with the musha robo kits because of Kero's robo's broken arm =(. I got them two years ago and didn't paint them, but they still look pretty good. ^^

For weapons and stuff, this big guy uses the spear from Kero's musha robo. ^^ A giant fist is also added onto the back, holding Tama's robo's spear with Giro's robo head stuck to it. Haha!

The hat from Tama's robo has become a huge shield for it. Not bad ^^.

I also added a cannon onto the back. He's all fully equipped now! =D

And with such a giant robo, Keroro has turned into a big bully already!

Haha, anyway, this is why I like the Musha kits more than the MK-II ones. These musha robo kits have many holes and pegs and you can plug any parts to anywhere. You can create anything you want even if you only have 1 kit.

First loot of 2010!

Yosh! Finally got Masurao. What's more, I added King Kerororobo Chou Kaiou mode to the loot. ^^

I also got some paints. They are gonna be very important for my future kits. ^^

Anyway, lets take a look at Masurao first. ^^

Awesome boxart there! I've been hoping for this kit after watching its first debut in the 2nd season of Gundam 00, fighting against Setsuna in his 00 Raiser. ^^

The box contains about 5 plates and 1 instruction manual. The D-plate is the new plate here while the rest of them are from the previous Susanowo release. ^^

Very nice poses there! I'm gonna try those once I finish the kit. ^^ Oh and yeah, those twin beam kantanas are named after Graham's late comrades. Just look at those names!

So yeah, Masurao will be on my top 3 building list. ^^

Now, lets check out King Kerororobo Chou Kaiou mode. ^^

The box art is pretty cool. You can even see Giroro and Tamama there. Oh and there's a evil pirate guy there.

The box contains plates from both Musha Keroro Robo and KeroDash Robo. ^^ So yeah, basially this Kero Robo is a combined form of these both Robos!

Some pictures of the completed model are shown on the back of the manual. The Kero Dash Booster looks pretty interesting. ^^

Tools and methods for painting.

All right. Some readers have been asking me the tools for painting and how I paint my kits. Therefore, I decided to do a post on painting. Again, like the previous post, my methods might not be correct, but I do hope that this will help you guys out.
So yep, here's the tools you need!
Firstly, you have to get paints and brush! Obvious heh? Haha!

Here's a set of gold and silver paints I have. However, they are all not the same. ^^ Basically, there's 3 different types of paint here. Aqueous Hobby Color, Mr Color and Mr Metal Color.

This is Aqueous Hobby Color as you can see. And well, Aqueous Hobby Color has always been my favourite. They don't stink as much as those from Mr Color, and water can be used to thin the paint.

Mr Metal Color uses thinner to thin the paint and well, if you want a metal-like finish for your kits, this will be great! However, it can be scratched a little to easily (eg. Chrome Silver). Therefore, always remember to seal it up with Top Coat!

Mr Color comes in many varieties of colours and it uses thinner to thin as well.

For brushes, you can get any brush you want. For me, I got myself a Tamiya flat brush.

Flat brushes are good for painting wide areas. Even though there's also pointed brushes for detailing, I never use them. Instead, I use the flat brush or markers for the job. The tip of the pointed brush is a little to hard to mantain for me. =X

If you are a beginner, markers would be a great choice for a start.

I've been using markers for a year, and I'm still using it now. It really helps a lot when it comes to detailing. ^^ Everytime before use, you got to shake it well. However, don't shake it side ways as there will be too much paint flowing out from the tip, resulting in wastage.

For panel linings, I always use Fine Tip Gundam Marker to do the job. Sometimes, the ink can be too thick or you might accidentally drawn the line wrongly, that's when the eraser comes to use. Also, if you have drawn the line wrongly on parts that you've painted, don't use an eraser as it might scratch the paint. Just cover the line with another coat of paint. Other than this marker, there are many other ways to do linings, but for now, I'll just stick to this. ^^

This thinner helps to clean off paints from the brushes. There's another type of thinner for thinning paint. All thanks to Jay for telling me that. ^^ This is a must-get when it comes to brushing.

Hmmm.... So basically, the ones above are all basic tools for painting. Now, I'll share some tips on painting. ^^

When painting, always paint the part in straight lines and never change the direction of it. ^^

When you accidentally paint a part wrongly, use a toothpick and gently scrape the excess paint off. When it comes to tougher or stickier paints, wet a cotton bud with thinner and clean it off. However, when the excess paint is covering another coat of paint, use the color for the original coat and cover it up. For example, in the picture above, red is covering yellow. Therefore, paint yellow over the red to cover it up. ^^ However, small excess paints can be easily covered up panel lining.

Sorry for the really crappy drawing. Anyway. before you paint any really small and detailed parts (Eg. Fancy designs for Sangokuden kits.), line the parts up first. It helps you to see the small details a little better when you are painting.

So yeap, that's all for this post. Hope this little guide will help you guys out in painting. Some methods might be wrong, therefore, help make ammends if there are any.

SD Syukuyu Noble Gundam- Completed!

Yay! I've been so busy with my other models that I've completely forgotten about her! Phew, luckily, I managed to finish the paint job on her.

Her twin daggers are basically her main weapons. They can be used as handheld weapons or even be stored on her back!

The twin daggers can also combine to form a double sided dagger thingy. Not bad. ^^

That's not it for this kit. Other than those daggers, she got a crazy mode that resembles the one of Noble Gundam! She really looks freaky now. >_<

RAWRR!!!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The tusks from the Master Elephant guy can be used as handheld daggers for her too!

It looks better than the twin daggers she got to me. ^^

How do I keep the boxes of my kits?

I don't throw the boxes of my gunpla after finishing the kit, instead, I keep them in plastic folders! The boxes takes up alot of space but I can't bear to throw them away. Therefore, I cut them and put them into folder like bags.
Here's how I do it!
First off, cut the corners of the cover box.

Then, fold the sides in and place all the accessories and stuff in it.

And lastly, slit it into a folder-like plastic bag and tape it up!

And as Sonsaku's box is small, the bag can store two SD kits! Saves plastic. ^^

After some folding and taping and all is done! ^^

And for bigger boxes with lots of acessories, only one folder can be used. =(

Some kits doesn't have much leftover parts or accesories (Eg. Sonsaku, Soldier Unit), therefore, you can place all those boxes in one folder. For example, 6 in 1 or even 8 in 1.

SD Sonsaku Physalis Gundam- Completed!

Whoa.... I bought this kit during late November and I only manage to post the completed model now! Anyway, the Sonsaku is pretty good. Some features of it are just awesome. However, after painting, the thick coat of paint clogs up some of the pegs and acts like glue. Some parts, like the shoulder armour are already stuck and I'm afraid that forcing it to take it out might break the pegs so I refrain from doing so. ^^

The Tiger Ball Saber he came with is actually all white. Some painting to it will make it look great. ^^

The 2 giant tonfas that are mounted on the shoulder armours can be used as handheld weapons. In this mode, the mask should come down to cover up Sonsaku's eyes. However, the ones on mine are stuck onto the helmet after painting. >_<

I'm not really sure what is this called, but it resembles the Nuclear cannon GP02A Physalis has. The center part of the thingy can be mounted onto the back of Sonsaku, just like the one on the original GP02A. The two spike thingies on the tonfas are then being mounted to it. Mann... I'm confused.

Overall, this is another must get kit in the Sangokuden line. However, the giant shoulder armours and heavy weapons it have, result in weight issues, The arms like to fall down when holding the big tonfas. And well, I guess that's the only flaw the kit has.

Anyway, before I end this post, lets look at the Yue Jin that I'm still working on. ^^

Still not completed at the moment. Some of the red paints are starting to peel off but I can't fix it yet. I've accidentally added too much water to the paint and when painting, the paint takes a long time to dry and also thinned the ones that's already dried.

See the hand there. The paint isn't working out right. I think it might take some time for the whole kit to be completed as I have to get a new bottle of red paint. >_< Anyway, the rest of the parts are fine, just some tidying and linings to do and all is done!

Oh well, life isn't that smooth today. Anyway, here are some random pictures I took previously. Some of these kits are really memorable while the others are well, great. ^^

SD Impulse! My first SD kit ever. Got it 2 years ago, and it still remains as a great kit to my collection even till today. No lining, no painting, simple snap build. ^^

SD Xu Huang Serpent! The first kit that fired me up to do linings on Gunpla. I don't know the reason, but it's one of the first few kits that I started to get serious about painting. ^^

SD Trans-Am 00. Didn't really did a great job on it, but it remains as one of my most daring attempt in marker painting. >_<

SD Meng Huo Gundam! First ever kit that I tried brushing and dry brushing on. Classic ^^

HG Exia ReII. Hmm.... One of my favourite HG kit in my collection. No reasons.... ^^

HG Gundam Astray Green Frame Custom. My abandoned modding project. Still in progress... =X

HGUC RX-79[G] Gundam! My 2nd HGUC kit and my favourite out of the HGUC EFSF collection I have. The arm was a little loose and I decided to damage it. Hmm... It's okay.. ^^

One Year Anniversary!

SD Guntank- Completed!

I picked up this kit yesterday while I was out with my friends. Although the SD Guntank is a simple 500 yen kit, it comes with some cool features ^^

And if you'd notice from the pictures above, there's a small pilot figure of Ryu in the cockpit. It came molded to its seat and it was entirely grey with no panel lines at all.

But from the picture from the instruction manual, Ryu seems to be very detailed with linings all around it.

With such a small figure, this is the best I can do. >_< It looks ugly compared to the one above, but I tried to add linings to resemble seat belts. Hmm... Maybe I can add some white to the shoulders and hands...

The twin 180mm recoilless cannons looks really good. And of course, it serves as Guntank's main weapon. ^^

The hands are actually Quadruplet missile launchers instead. Not bad. =)

With both weapons in action, it's surely a threat to the the Zeon forces!

Anyway, with this SD kit, I've finally managed to complete my SD Operation V set! They really look good together. ^^

SD Yue Jin Gundam- Get!

Got this kit yesterday, but what's suprising is, its actual release date is on the 24th of the month! I even saw the big giant Gattai kit beside it while its release date is on the 17th! Awesome!

Anyway, when you open up the box, you will get 3 trees, 1 polycap tree, a foil sticker sheet, and of course, an instruction manual. ^^ And like the rest of the kits from the Gaiden line, 2 of the trees are from the previous musha kits.

The kit is very interesting. From the looks of the trees and the stickers, there's some kind of kid mode. Anyway, I'm not gonna use the blue frame colours. Instead, I gonna replace it with the Red Frame colours! ^^

SD Kyou-I F91- Completed!

Phew! I've finally manage to complete this guy. Took almost forever to do so >_<

Hmm... There's lots of stuff to show off for this guy, I guess I gotta show them off one by one heh. ^^

Causual mode! Haha, nothing much here, but still looking good. ^^

However, what's waiting for him is a bunch of countless accessories! =D

Next up is commander mode! Added some armour, and well, it's still looking awesome ^^

Commander mode 2! Hmm.... looks more like a spy mode to me. The Zaku mask is really misleading. >_<

And finally, Burst Mode! Basically, all the armours just are mounted onto Kyou-I with some added clear sparkling red flame effect parts. ^^

For accessories, this guy came with a bunch of it. Lets take a look at them. ^^

A simple spear thingy. The flame effect parts can be added onto it to make it look more meanacing. Awesome! =D

The twin swords on its back have flame effect parts too. It's also the main weapon for his final blow, resembling Gundam F91's twin cannons. ^^

The devilish looking shield has a hole at the bottom to allow weapons to be mounted there. There's also a holder piece to allow the shield to be mounted onto the arm or be held by the hands. Nice! ^^

So yeah, that's all for Kyou-I. I can't make the small dragon thingy out from the weapons because the sliding piece of dragon on the chest got too thick after painting. >_<

Brushing VS Gundam Markers

Hmm.... here are some painting tips from my experience that I'd like to share with you guys. Some of them might not be perfect, or even incorrect, but I think it will be a little helpful to beginners ^^

Before we get to the paints, lets start with the basic brush and markers. People might ask which is better for painting. I prefer brushing than markers, but really, it depends ^^

Brush

Advantages:
-Flexible tip to paint "hard to reach" areas.
-Can be used for any paints as long as the brush is kept clean.
-Paint parts much faster than markers.
-Comes in a wide variety (eg. flat, pointed, etc.)
Disadvantages:
-Brush must be clean after finish using it.
-Less control when it comes to detailing.

Markers

Advantages:

-More control when comes to detailing.

-Easy to use; suitable for beginners.

-Don't need to be clean, just cap it tightly.

Disadvantages:

-Can't paint small areas.

Here's a small diagram of the marker tip. Basically, there are two points which allow you to use. The flat one is for wide painting while the pointed tip is for painting small and tiny areas. However, from what I've experience before, the tip doesn't usually gives out much paint. Therefore, when painting such small areas, it's best to press the tip on a small plate to let the paint out and then use a toothpick or a pointed brush to paint the areas. This saves alot of time from the cleaning and tidying part. ^^

-Takes a very long time to paint large areas.

-Tends to need more coats to give a even finish.

-Got to shake it fairly before use.

So yeah, brushes or markers you deicide. ^^

Now, lets get to the paints. Hmm.... again, I'd go for bottle paints rather than markers. There's a very, very huge variety of bottle paints to choose from in terms of brands and colours. And well, you can never get sick of it. Anyway, lets cut the crap and start comparing ^^

Bottle paints

Advantages:

-Many colours and brands to choose from.

-Comes in metallic, flat, gloss, semi-gloss, flourescent and even clear to suit one's need.

-From what I know, Mr Hobby paints have different series for different paint types.

From left to right: Mr Aqueous Color, Mr. Metal Color, Mr Color. If I'm not wrong, I think I'd missed out one of the series, but I just can't remember what it is O_O

Disadvantages:

-Takes quite a longer time to clean up.

-STINKS! O_O

Markers

Advantages:

-Easy to clean up.

-Don't stink ^^

-The series come with a eraser marker. O_O

Disavantages:

-Doesn't have much colours to choose from.

Conclusion: I think starting with markers would be the best choice. Build up the basics before going on to brushing. The markers might even help when your brushing fails ^^

And one last advice, be patient no matter what. Trust me, it'd be alot faster to wait than to rush the paint job. Patience is the key to everything ^^

HG 0 Gundam- Completed!

"Gu...Gundam.."

Phew, 0 Gundam is finally completed. I was so excited after I got it during the fiesta but the other kits I got after that just delayed it from being built. Hmm.... maybe I'm just too lazy... >_<

Anyway, this kit is actually the same as the previous "Type A.C.D" release, only that it comes with a different colour scheme, a new GN-Drive and the GN Feather.

Head

Pretty good head articulation. It resembles alot to the ones of MK-II and RX-78-2. ^^

Torso

Has the same stomach articulation like 00. Like the other 00 kits, the clear piece is completed clear and I had to paint the green myself =(

Arms

Hmm.... the arms are pretty good in terms of articulation. However, the joint is kinda wierd. While I was building it, I didn't took note that it should be correct to reveal a slight part of the peg. I though it was wrong and push all the way into the polycap, resulting in a stress mark there. =( The seam line there is also hard to get rid off...

Waist

Very nice waist desgin, and again, it looks alot to the one of RX-78-2. The yellow there should be duller, but I don't have that yellow at all, therefore, I'd to replace it with the normal yellow.

Leg

The articulation on the leg is one of the best from the line. It's almost as good as the ones of 00 Gundam ^^

GN-Drive

A completely new part for this kit. It looks a hell lot nicer than the one from the A.C.D version to me.

GN Beam pistol

A small unique pistol. ^^

Gundam Shield

Very nice looking. And well, I think the dull look of it looks alot better to the one from the "Type A.C.D".

GN Beam Saber

The kit comes with the beam saber holder, but not the beams....

GN-Feather

However, in exchange for the clear beam parts, we get the GN-Feather effect part! This is one of the main reasons why I got this kit ^^

Comparision

A small comparision with the "Type A.C.D" version.

Being the first Gundam to be equipped with a GN-Drive, this kit is already a major add on to the HG 00 collection! ^^ And well, that's all for this post. I'm currently busy with my Sangokuden kits, stay tune for them ^^

A modeler's worst nightmare

Hmmm.... just a very short post that I thought of sharing with you guys after watching a review from a model reviewer on youtube. Basically, he lost the V-Fin from the Limited Edition Gundam 30th (7-11 ver.), and well, I agree, losing a piece from a limited edition kit, or even any other kit can be a nightmare to a modeler. Even when some of your models are broken, they can used as parts for kit bashing ^^
Therefore, to me, I don't think that is the worst nightmare as missing parts can be replaced or scratch build it yourself. What's the worst? I think it should be watching one's whole collection go to waste. Maybe they are all lost in a fire or something. Hmm.... I really hope that day won't come for me, that'd be really bad >_<

SD Sonsaku Physalis Gundam- Get!

Got this kit from Compass Point's Metro ^^ I didn't expect them to have the new arrivals so fast, there's even the HGUC Unicorns and some Gaiden kits.

When you open the box up, these are what you'd get. It's kinda funny to see Bandai squeeze all the 3 trees, the polycaps and the sheet of foil sticker to one plastic bag. Getting budget heh ^^

After I've read through the comic on the instruction manual, I found something cool. It looks like the Nuel-Ziel guy can possess Sonsaku. This is another great feature to get the Nuel-Ziel which comes in a set ^^

So yeah, that's all for this post. I'd just got home from chalet yesterday, pretty tired now.

HG Trans-Am Raiser- Completed!

Finally completed the Trans-Am Raiser! No paints or linings are needed for this kit, just a simple snap fit build ^^ Although I screwed up one of the binders of the 0 Raiser, some super glue and sandpaper saved the day. Hmm... I will talk about that later on.

00 Gundam

Front view. The gloss injection looks awesome ^^

Articulation/ Clear parts

The 00 Gundam shines for its articulation and well, I did some painting for the clear parts. Painted it with clear red for the Trans-Am effect. ^^ Other than that, there's a glittering foil sticker underneath those clear pieces, they near blinded my eyes.

Head

The head is pretty simple. It can move all the way up and all the way down, no flaws for articulation ^^ But then, the stickers ob the V-Fin are a pain =(

Torso

A simple torso with 2 ball joints that allows it to move to the front, back and to the sides.

Arms and Waist

The shoulder allows the arms to go oall the way out and of course, all the way round. The elbow bends at awesome 180 degrees ^^ There's a extra joints which allow the wrist to go up and down even further.

Nothing special about the waist. The front and side skirts are connected to the waist with a tiny ball joint which is really very loose. =(

Legs

The legs was one of the major selling points for the 00 Gundam ever since it was released. The legs can split all the way out and bend 180 degrees. The feet can go in and out with no problem.

Some poses before continuing on to the 0 Raiser. ^^

And a small comparision with the original 00 Gundam I got a year back.

0 Raiser

Hmm..... looks pretty cool, but nothing special. Haha ^^

Anyway, here's the part which I broke. That grey piece there got stuck to the wings and it can't go in and not go out. The piece then shattered after forcing it out and I had to glue those pieces back. I then sanded down those lines =(

Anyways, here's a small comparision with the original ^^

00 Raiser

And now, it's time to show off the awesome 00 Raiser! Basically, the 0 Raiser just mounts onto the back of 00 Gundam and it's binders are mounted to 00 Gundam's Twin GN Drives.

Accessories

This kit came with a crap load of stuff. And firstly, lets get to the best weapon of all ^^

GN-Sword III

Nice clear green piece there ^^

The GN-Sword III, like other GN-Sword types, can be transformed into both rifle and sword mode. ^^

But what is different for this sword is that it emmits a HUGE beam, which can easily destroy a few ships ^^

Raiser Sword!

GN-Sword II

Again, the swords can be transform between the sword and rifle mode. ^^ But then, I think this design is kinda funny O_O

The swords can also form a huge spear, lance thingy ^^

Other than that, the GN-Sword IIs can also emmit huge beams. It destroyed the fearsome Memento Mori and Empruss by doing so ^^

Beam Sabers

Nothing special about the beam sabers. Just an add-on beam effect part for this kit ^^

GN Daggers

The shield can mounted onto the GN-Drives holders, 0 Raiser wings, 00 Gundam's elbow and even form a shield when put together ^^

So that's all for the Trans-Am Raiser. If you really like the 00 Raiser and haven't get a kit of it. Get this rather than the recent PG release and the 1/100 scales. This is alot cheaper and doesn't require any paintings at all ^^

HGUC Nu Gundam- Completed!

This guy is finally completed! Some parts of it gave me lots of trouble while building it last few days, but they are nothing compared to the awesomeness of this guy ^^

Lets start with the head first ^^

Head

The head is really good. There's a neck joint connected to it which allows it to look really high but it's really very stiff. I fear breaking the V-Fin when moving it. One of the best head articulation design I've ever seen. ^^

Torso

The torso is really huge and bulky. It has a ball joint that allows it to move a little to the front and the back. Not bad. Hmm.. I did a pretty bad job for the linings there 0.0

Arms

The joints for the arms are really strong and they also comes with many different types of palms too. Too bad, there's only a closed fist and a open palm for the left hand, so don't even think about having the left hand to hold anything. =X

But what's cool about the left arm is that there's a beam saber stored in it. Just slide the piece beneath the arm out and it reveals the beam saber ^^

Legs

The articulation fot the legs are okay, but the feet is quite bad The feets can't bend left and right very much, what's more, the legs don't split much. I guess this is the only flaw for this kit. =(

I did quite a fair bit of detailing to this kit, which are mostly thrusters and the pipes, but well, I think I screwed up abit here.

Some sliver and gold on the shoulders.

Same goes to the thighs and pipes on the leg.

Thrusters are painted silver on the outside and gold on the inside.

The accessories it came with are quite alot. ^^

Beam Rifle

A small beam rifle. Nothing special about it.

New Hyber Bazooka

A huge and bulky bazooka with a nice movable handle. It's too bad that it is so big that it's hard to pose it and what's more, it needs serious painting and detailing. For me, I only painted some parts black.

Beam sabers

There are basically 2 beam sabers on the Nu. One on the left arm and the other at the back.

But what's different is that the on on the back is a customised one from what I know. It gives of a more dynamic beam effect part too. ^^

Shield

Quite a cool looking shield design. There's 4 small missiles underneath the shield too ^^

Fin Funnels

And of course, the famous Fin Funnels of Nu Gundam! Looks really good when everything is put together, but I think it's only a matter of time those locking joints and clips get loose. D=

So yeaps, that's all for HGUC Nu Gundam! But what's coming behind....

....is of course Nu's arch enemy, Sazabi!

Hehe... got Sazabi last year, didn't even do any detailing or painting to it then.

Clash of the rivals! =D

That's all for Nu Gundam's post. Overall, it's a really really great kit. If you're a fan of the UC series, this kit would be great for you. And from the look of it, I can say that it can easily topple over a regular 1/144 HG kit. Exia has no chance at all! ^^

SD Turn A Gundam- Completed!

Finally got this little kit yesterday after a few months of searching! I'm not a big fan of the Turn A series, but I always like the Turn A design and well, the SD verson is just awesome. Got it with some other Mr Hobby paints at the trusty Hobby Point at Century Square which I frequent almost every month. Actually, I wanted to visit AFA09, but well, I thought it's kinda expensive, so I decided to drop by at Century Square and take a look there ^^

When you open the box, you will get a small instruction manual, and of course, a bunch of sprews and foil stickers ^^

It's quite rare to see clear parts in early SD kits. What's more, this kit even came with a metal chain for the Gundam Hammer!

And when I was looking through the manual, I spot something that's pretty interesting. From the picture above, I figured that the Kapool, Shining Gundam, Gundam Wing and Gundam X are combined to be designed as the Turn A Gundam!

Completed the kit this morning. It's a really cute SD kit ^^

Articulation isn't a bunch for this kit, but the acessories it come with, makes up for it!

Beam rifle and a small Gundam shield ^^

The "burst mode" version of the beam saber actually only requires the clear beam part to slide into the white beam saber part. Not bad ^^

Gundam Hammer! Nice looking chain there ^^

The last accessory it came with is an extra chest part for the missiles on the chest. I'm too lazy to detail the missiles... hehe... But still, it looks pretty cool.

A small comparison with the Granddaddy of all, SD RX-78-2 Gundam!

So yeah, overall this kit is pretty cool!

Advantages: Nice looking, lots of accessories (even comes with clear beam part!).

Disadvantages: Lack of articulation.

I'm really happy to get this kit. I've been searching for so long and I finally got it! Hehe... another nice SD kit added to my collection ^^

HG Gaddess- Completed!

Finally managed to complete this kit. I bought it on 3rd September and only did it now, I'm such a lazybum...
Anyway, the Gaddess is a really great suit and kit. it's my favourite out of all the suits from the GNZ series.

Another look at the head. Hmm... if only it has the shades like Garazzo, then it would be perfect to me ^^

The escape pod is pretty nice looking but it's pretty stiff on mine.

The arms are really nice. There's even a GN Cutter mounted to it. And well, I like the big bulky shoulder armours ^^ Really nice looking.

The only flaw lies with the feet guards. Those guards are actually foil stickers and it is really a pain to get them on.

The GN Heat Saber is rather plain, but still, it looks awesome ^^

GN Vulcans are being mounted to the arm, even though I've never seen it being used before in the anime 0.0

And for the best weapon it came with, they are the GN Beam Saber Fangs! It's impossible for the Gaddess to almost defeat Cherudim without these fangs. ^^

So yeah, that's it for Gaddess. I really like this kit, an awesome must-get kit for me. ^^

Keropla: Chibi Kero- Completed!

Finally something not related to Gundams ^^ And yeah, it's Keroro! However, what I got here is Keroro when he was a kid, so yeah, he has a tail to show that he's a alien tadpole ^^
I built this kit once I got home from my trip to Takashimaya, and well, this kit isn't one that people will go "ga-ga" over but it's defintely one nice and cute kit for Keroro fans ^^

Ta-da! Awesome kit for an awesome 5 bucks!

And when I was messing around with this little kit, I accidentally broke Chibi Kero's little 1/100 Zaku II figure! Arghh, gotta really handle this mini figures with extreme care.

And Chibi Kero is really pissed now...

And if you notice, the eyes can be swapped. What you gotta do is to push the eyes back and twist the part behind. It's as simple as that! Other than this, there are various hands and legs for you to swap around. Not bad ^^ However, the ball joints tend to be loose after serveral attempts of swapping.

And well, Chibi Kero gets really jealous after seeing how many Gunplas his older counterpart has, he decides to....

The best and the last for the year!

Went to Ngee Ann City yesterday to take a look at the Singapore BAKUC and of course, to get some really cheap kits from the awesome promotion. Before that, I went to catch 2012. It's 2 and a half hours long and well, it's epic! It is alot better than I first expected when I saw the trailer ^^

First off! ChiBi-Keroro! Only cost $5 while its original price is about $14!

A small and cute kit. Not bad for $5 ^^

Next up, Trans-am Raiser! Hoho... this is awesome, I'm so shock to see the prcie when I got there. It cost only $30 when the original price is about $43! I've been aiming this kit since it came out and now this is a golden chance to grab it, I just can't miss this great offer!

First Trans-Am gloss injection kit. Comes with the glittering foil sticker too ^^

And finally, HGUC Nu Gundam. Best deal for me for the year! Better than the Trans-Am Raiser above. Its original price is about $53 and I got it at an awesome 30 bucks! I wanted to get the Hi-Nu but can't find it so I just grab this kit. This kit has always been at the bottom of my list because of its price but now, it's in a paper bag, waiting to be built ^^

Compared to Trans-Am Raiser, Nu's box is really thick!

And when I thought I'm gonna pay $65 for these kits, my dad had a $50 voucher! Thanks to my dad, I got all these kits for a whopping $15! So yeah, this will be the last loot for the year. I'd be pushing Sun Ce and the Unicorns to 2010 ^^

SD Exia Custom!

A very short post on my latetest project! SD Exia custom, 11 swords custom to be exact ^^ Actually, I didn't really wanted to do this. It was until I found some unused parts from my broken SD Duel and I thought those parts can come in handy ^^

The leg guards were from Duel's shoulder guards. I took Duels beam sabers and added to the shield. And lastly, I took the piece to secure the V-Fin to the head to become an extra armour for Exia's chest.

I found Strike's Armour Schnieder lying around and I added to Exia's accessories ^^ Those holders were shaped out of Duel's fists. Not very well done, but it's something there D=

I move the ginat GN Sword to Exia's left arm and added a blade underneath the shield ^^

A small sword made from the GN Beam Saber. I wanted to make it somewhat like Red Frame's Gebera Straight, but my skills just uhh... flopped the plan =(

SD RX-78-2 Gundam G30th- Completed!

Alright, so here's the kit. Hmm.... I think this should be one of the SDs that have great articulation.

And well, this kit also come with decals! It's quite rare to see decals in SD kits ^^ But then, I didn't follow the correct way of placing these decals, so yeah, most of the decals are on the front then on the back.

For its acessories, this kit came with the beam rifle, the Gundam shield, and a beam saber! It's a pity it doesn't come with the hyper bazooka.

The shield and the beam rifle are completely new molds ^^

The kit comes with a beam saber too, but I borrowed this from the SD Full Armour Gundam. heh, haven't completed the beam saber yet... hehe.

Another cool add-on to this kit is the background!

Heh... so that's pretty much all for this kit. And with this kit, I can't help but to take a family potrait of my RX-78 variations!

Hehe... I can barely squeeze everything into the scene. Anyway, is SD Ryuubi counted? If so, I think I gotta take the photo all over again =(

I dug the gloss injection RX-78-2 from my pile of wrecked Gunplas, and well, the joints are really loose, it can barely stand on its own foot. And well, it's also my first HGUC kit and I don't even know it's a limited edition kit! Silly me.... Should have done a better job on the kit, kinda regret doing all the battle damage to it.

SD O Gundam (Type A.C.D), SD Exia R2- Completed!

As promised, O Gundam is finally here! And well, Exia R2 joins in too. I gotta say that these 2 kits are really awesome, they are both "must-get" kits if you're a Double O fan.

Anyway, lets look at Exia R2 first!

Front view. Hmm... really cool looking guy. The GN-Sword Kai is just a awesome add-on ^^ And well, I think I like this more than the original Exia.

Rear view. The modified back skirts are pretty cool, and well, I think Bandai can do a better job for the burst GN-Drive O_O

As always, the awesome GN-Sword Kai can be transformed into its rifle mode....

And of course, its sword mode!

And well, if you're wondering where all the extra weapons which are from the original Exia trees gone to, they are being mounted to a plane, jet thingy. Pretty nice ^^

And what's even better, the unused GN-Drive can be stored underneath it. Smart heh, Bandai?

Finally, lets compare the R2 with the original Exia! Hmm.... there isn't much difference between them. But still, if you look very closely, there are some different parts, like the shoulder armour, back skirts, etc.

So yeah, that's for the R2, lets get to O Gundam now!

Ta-da! O Gundam looking as awesome as ever!

The beam pistol it comes with is pretty big. Too big for the mdel itself I think. But still, it's not too bad ^^

The shield is awesome, very nice looking. Heh... I still haven't painted the underside of it.

And of course, the kit also comes with a stand to mount its GN Feathers!

A small loot

Hmm.... I'm finally back for another post after taking a break for a day. And well, yesterday, I got the SD RX-78-2 Gundam G30th ver.!

A cute little SD released recently. I didn't want to get it at first since it reuses trees from the SD Perfect Gundam (which I have), but my Gunpla addiction just can't stop ^^

I'm quite suprised to see a small little SD kit cost 800yen. The background, a bigger box, a small extra tree and some dry decals it comes with adds up to make the extra 200yen? Hmm... it's quite okay... but luckily I only got it for about S$13 since there's a sale going on in Metro.

But to say the truth, I'm really excited to build this kit. Looks really interesting and it's definitely another awesome add-on to my RX-78-2 collection!

And well, SD Perfect Gundam has a funny feeling of déjà vu now. O_O

HGUC Full Armour Gundam 7th WIP Part 3- Completed!

3 days of work and this kit is finally completed! But before showing any poses, lets get to the parts which I worked on yesterday first.
First off!

The main weapon of all, the long range dorsal canon thingy. Really awesome cannon, I think it's even nicer than Throne Eins's one. Anyway, I painted gold for some of the parts as you can see, and well it turned out really good top me =)

The rear thrusters (are they thrusters?) took quite a long time for me to do, mostly because of the vents for the main thruster. I gave a dark iron base and a semi-gloss dark grey coat to produce a kind of flat grey colour O_O Oh, and it's really a pity that those thrusters at the very side are hollow behind.

I also did some stuff to the backpack too. Other than lining it, I also painted the interiors of the thrusters gold, turn out pretty well ^^

So yeah, those were pretty much what I did yesterday evening. And well, the kit is finally completed with all this parts assembled!

The open palm is really a good add-on, and what's even better, both hands come with this open palm!

This kit is really back heavy, so much stuff going on behind, so yeah, the only way to solve this problem is to include a display stand! For me, I use the Sparkling Green Ver. which I only have 2 as they don't come that cheap =(

Grabbing his own beam saber is a no-problem for this guy!

So yeah, I'd finally come to an end for this guy! 3 days of hard work finally paid off, and I really enjoyed the time I spent building this kit! Another awesome add-on to my collection. And with this last picture....

HGUC Full Armour Gundam 7th WIP Part 2

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes

Alright, so here is part two of the work for the kit. I did it yesterday and it was full of mistakes! Silly me~ but still, I manage to completed the suit smoothly, leaving only the backpack. Anyway, here are the mistakes...

First mistake: Using wrong polycaps for the waist and the shield.

So here's the shield. The polycap used for the hole there should be PC-1, but I mixed PC-7 up by putting the last PC-1 in the waist, and in the end I couldn't take that polycap out and I'm left with no choice to trim the sides off PC-7 and fit it in. Both polycaps actually shares the same size, the only different is just that PC-7 has longer sides. But still, everything worked out fine! Oh and nice details on the back of the shield.

Details under the feet are friggin awesome too!

Second mistake: Putting the wrong parts for the sides of the leg.

So here's the part. There should be an indent (indicated by the red circle) to fit those yellow thrusters but I took the piece for the other leg and stuck it all the way in. I realised it was wrong and had a hard time to take it out. After the part was taken out, there is a slight stress mark on the back of the part indicated by the yellow circle. Sheesh..

Third mistake: No scope for Beam Rifle!

Ok this is really silly. I've look through the manual for like 10 times and I didn't even notice that there's a scope for the beam rifle! Luckily, when I was reading through Chubbybots' post of his FA-78-3 this morning, I realised I missed out the scope (indicated in red circle)! I then went to add the scope but after that I realised I'm missing the yellow target piece for the scope! O_O Haha, so yeah, the few poses with the rifle you're gonna see next are without scopes..

Really good kit, but one thing I don't like is his rifle. Too big for me >_<

Really nice shield design.

HGUC Full Armour Gundam 7th WIP Part 1

Just came back from my school dentist, and well, I got seriously owned by the dentist O_O No extraction though, but the scaling part was already... uhh... terrible =(

Anyway, lets cut the crap and start with the kit! Well, I wanted to take a break from all the hardcore paintings for my Sangokuden and I thought building a HG kit would be a good one. I actually wanted to do the 0 Gundam at first, but I was quite pumped to build the FA 7th after seeing its manual =)

So here's a pose of the FA 7th, really bulky and detailed mech. I liked the shield and giant cannon on the back, looks amazing =)

Here's the bunch of trees you get from the kit. Not bad ^^ So well, lets start with the building.

Can you see those marks on the side? They are really a pain to get rid off. I had to shave it with a art knife and sand it down but the mark is still there O_O I guess I still need more experience here. Anyway, to cover the marks, I tried to use Gundam Marker over it but you still can see the marks.

Alright so here is some panel lining. The oil-based panel liner made the line so thick and it just goes over the line. Don't really like the look of that. So what I did, was to just use an eraser and rub the excess ink. And the results?

Thinner lines! However, the eraser couldn't rub the ink at the very corner of the line, but that can be solved by using toothpicks ^^

After a hour or two, the heads and arms are finally completed! Lots of lining, shaving and sanding to do, but the overall results are awesome!

I wanted to leave the lower part of the kit till next time, but after seeing the front skirts, I have a sudden urge to seperate them and build the waist.

Ta-da! Front skirts seperated using pliers and art knife. I'm kinda afraid to do this at first but I still gotta try and the results are pretty good. However, I had to trim some of the excess plastics on the ball joints off to make it fit the hole.

Individual movable front skirts! Pretty good, but I kinda regret not doing this to my HG 0 Gundam Type A.C.D.

SD Mokaku Gundam WIP 3- Completed!

Finally! After a few days of work, Mokaku is completed! Phew.... Anyway, before the posing and stuff, I got some problems with it while weathering it.

All right, so here is the feet of Mokaku. See the crack on the side? Well, the piece broke off. I was like "WTH?!" when it came off as I thought it was only a scratch. I never thought it'd came off 0.0 Anyway, I glued it, filed the excess glue and then weathered it.

After everything, I tested the feet joint, and well, it worked pretty well. Hmm.... I think I overdid the weathering on the ankle guards...

After another few hours and top coating.... It's finally completed! I really like the results, but I still think I can do a better job with my art knife... oh well =D Anyway, it's all posing and action now!

Nothing much behind, but I'm really satisfied with the weathering on the rings on the back.

As a martial artists, I can bet this guy can kick some serious ass in the battlefield even without any weapons!

Even when he loses, he can always cheat =D So yeah, you must always have a backup plan for everything you do heh?

But even when you lose after all the backup plans you have, don't be so mean to use a snowball.....

And throw it straight to your enemy's face! SMACK!!!

Haha, so that's it for Mokaku, with this, the All Sangokuden Project is about 40% completed! I'm currently working on Shuutai and Zhu Rong, so yeah, you are gotta see them soon here.

For now, lets see what I got for my trip to Hobby Art Gallery yesterday! Hmm.... HAG is a really nice place to get Gunplas, good deals, good varieties. The funny thing is, the boxes doesn't come with plastic wraps, and some of them don't even have price tags. Anyway, the shop also displays many awesome works of different modelers. Some of them which I think, were past competition champion entries! Sheesh... after so much talking, lets get back to the loot I got. First off......!!!!

SD Kyou-I F91! It's such an awesome model, I've been aiming for it since last month, and i got it just a few days after its release date! Getting new models so fast are kinda rare for me.

Up next is HGUC Gundam FA 7th Unit! I wasn't aiming for this at first because HG Trans-Am Raiser and HG Seravee GNHW/B are all that I thought of, but after a second thought, I decided to get it... at a price of $26! 2nd HGUC kit of the year, guess Sazabi needs some warm-ups before clashing with Nu Gundam!

Other than the kits above, I also got myself some tools. Sandpaper 1000, art knife (Finally!) and a bottle of Mr. Metal color Iron =)

So yeah, these kits are gonna make me real busy during the holidays, not forgetting my HG Gaddess, HG Arios GNHW/M, HG Reborns, HG 0 Gundam, SD 0 Gundam, SD Zhu Rong, SD Shuutai and SD TaiShiCi Dom!!!! Ahhh....

SD Syukuyuu Gundam WIP Part 1

Finally another progress for my trio box set! This time it's Syukuyu (aka Zhu Rong) and well, I did this last week and was to lazy to post and dragged till today. This is gonna be quick as I did not do much on the kit.

Alright, first off, I painted all the parts need to be gold, gold. Like I said before, I have 3 types of gold paint, but I decided to only use the Mr Hobby Aqueous and Mr Metal Colour ones.

Wanted to try to give off a metallic green effect for the forehead "camera" by giving it a gold base, but it failed. I dunno why, but I succeed before. Maybe it's because I added too much thinner to the gooey clear green.

So yeah, after that epic failure, I'm left with no choice to paint the part metallic green with my Sangoukden Gundam Marker =) Oh and the paper below is my notes for Geography if you guys are wondering. LOL

The green did not turn out really good for the forehead "camera". Anyway, I painted the parts need to be green the same colour. I also tidied and panel lined some parts too.

So yep, the progress is still very sloooowww......... and that's it for now. But before I go, here's a sneak preview of another upcoming model, and the progress is also slooooowwww.... too.

Ta-da! The big baddie from the last episode of Gundam 00 Season 2!

I almost completed everything, lwaving only the weapons. Anyway, after I finished the torso, I realised I got the colour scheme mixed up. The white should be on the upper part of the body while the red should be at the bottom part of the body! I painted it vice-versa! Also, the white should also cover the part surrounding the GN Drive on the chest! Sheesh, what a careless mistake, anyway, I decided to only add the white for the parts around the GN Drive and finish everything up!

A Series Of Weathering Failure

Finally taking a break after so much Gunpla-ing during the weekends. Well, since there's not much stuff for me to do, I decided to show some of my weathered Gunplas I did last time. Sadly, they don't look good to me.
Lets start with the worst..

Screwed up Keroro!, Really screwed.... Actually I didn't wanted to do this but since it's arms broke off, I think there's no point to display it without arms, which resulted in this. Yeahh... it looks bad, even Gunso-san needs bandage O_O

Heavy weathering = Epic FAIL

SD Stargazer! Looks okay to me, at least it's alot better than Gunso-san up there. Hmm... you can see a hole in at the cockpit and you might think it's already a direct shot to the cockpit and the suit miraculously survived? Yep, I guess Selene and Sol got really lucky to survive that.

Up next is the Ahead! Another broken kit of mine. I don't even know how I broke the leg joint when I was just posing it to stand O_O Anyways, the first look of it already reveals that it had gone through some serious bad ass battle.

Another look and you can see the left thruster, left side skirt are all gone. The GN-Drive Tau has a scratch, hmm.... not convincing to me..

A big hole at the GN-Drive Tau, GN Particles are seriously leaking!

I wanted to do something like Exia Repair's head but well, I gave up the idea as by doing so, a few pegs might be broken and it's very risky. I decided to just gave it a half-burnt look, somewhat like Seravee's beam shot right pass its face.

Some scratches on the arm. Hmm... I think these two are okay, still have room for improvement.

Light weathering = Passable?

HG Strike Rogue, a unpainted kit that I found lying in one of my boxes. I was quite bored then and decided to try out some weathering. Used some of my own dry brushing method, and made a few scratch marks on it. I also attached a Aile Striker pack that has no wings to it.

Some scratches here and there with a conked-up vent beside the head.

The shield is pretty big and many stuff can be do to it. I did some scratch marks (again) onto it and stopped there. (I'm actually tempted to cut the whole shield into half, O_O)

Some scratches here and there (again). Oops, spotted a seam line on the thighs, how embarrasing D=

Alright, so that's about it for the Rogue! Don't think that it's piloted by Cagalli and is already so worn out means that it's nothing serious. This guy still can pack a punch real hard!

And with that, I've come to an end to this post. Guess I really gotta learn alot from these past failures to do a good job on my Mokaku. That's it for now, gotta go decide what to eat for lunch, Fish Soup or KFC? LOL

SD Mokaku WIP Part 2

Alright, finally it's part 2 of the WIP. Spent the whole Saturday afternoon on the kit, and sad to say, it's still no completed =P Anyway, I stopped at the gold parts in the previous post, and now, I'd be continuing on some smaller details and weathering (again).
Lets start with some panel-lining first ^^

Mokaku's V-Fin is one of my favourite of all other fins from other kits. Nice monster (monster?) face on the fin and the details are just awesome. I just used a oil-based panel liner and trace out the lines. Looks really good now =D

The clear green orb on the chest is also painted and lined. The clear green just look fantastic on the chest. It'd be even better if HG 00 kits have clear green parts since SDs already have them =P

I also cleaned up the shoulder armours. The one on the left is being cleaned and lined while the one on the right isn't.

After 2 to 3 hours of painting, lining and drying, it finally came to weathering. I only weathered some parts as the rest are not completed. I found some tips of dry-brushing on the net and decided to try it out. I don't know if this looks good to others and even if the method I used is correct. but here's the results.

I made a few scratch marks on it and then dry-brush it. For the gold parts, I used grey for the dry-brushing as I thought the gold is already shiny enough to cover up the silver weathering. I then used silver for the dry brushing on the rest of the parts =)

I kinda like the results on the V-Fin and the mask. The mouth was a little screwed as I accidentally smudged the red on the chin, causing the mouth to be so bloody. I tried cleaning it up but there's still a stain there O_o

You can see two obvious scratch marks on the body yeah? I didn't really like the one under the orb, the scratch doesn't look convincing to me. The vent one is okay... but I think it ain't perfect =( Also, i think I overdid the weathering on the shoulder, looks burnt 0.0

After everything, it's finally time to pack up. Spent almost 6 hours on Gunpla-ing today. Having backaches now... too much sitting and bending... Anyway, that's it for now, till the next post!

SD Mokaku WIP Part 1

This is my first ever WIP posting, featuring..... SD Mokaku Gundam! Yep, he is in the All Sangokuden Project which I posted yesterday and well, the progress is slow....

Alright, before any paint jobs, I had to remove the weathering that I did which failed badly, All I did was just dab a cotton bud into a little thinner and wipe off all the stains.

After that, I went to file down some parts and went on with the painting. For now, I only decided to start on gold, and here it goes.

I used Mr. Metal Colour, Brass. It states Brass on the bottle but it's gold, whereas, the bottle which states gold is actually a copper-brass type of colour. I painted the parts I wanted with Brass first, and continued other parts with Mr. Aqueous, Metallic (Gloss) Gold.

Pro modelers are gonna laugh when they see my work place. 3 pieces of paper as my "mat" and that's my workplace. You can even see my school work and notes down under the table >_<

After everything, I left the parts in two recycled paper boxes, seperating the ones that are heavily painted from those that are not. I went to check on the parts just now and found that there's still quite a few touching up to do.

Alright, that's about it, nothing much as the progress is slow due to my laziness..Yawnn....

The All Sangokuden Project!

It had been sometime since I post about my Gunpla heh? And since the exams are already over, I can finally concentrate everything on my Gunplas. Well, there are still like 8 kits left for me to build and I decided to start on Sangokuden ones first!

Yes! Finally got TaiShiCi Dom. Lucky for him, he doesn't need to wait for like a month like the couple to recieve his snap fit treatment. Oh and if you had notice, I finally used a camera, finally better quality images =)

Meng Huo is already in the progress. However, I try to do some light weathering on him, but gave up the idea. Epic fail in weathering attempts =( Guess i need more experience bah.

I filed and sharperend Zhu Rong's swords. I dunno why, but her legs are kinda, uhh, loose 0.0

Taishici is just great. The only complain is that Bandai could have use polycaps to secure his "Crab" armour. Other than that, everything went smoothly, and it is definitely worth the $13.95.

In progress

Finally a sneak preview to my Shuutai! I didn't follow the original colours due to a few reasons. But well, i kinda like the look of him now. Some more panel lining and light painting and all is done ^^

Meng Huo is already in the process of painting. I had also removed the weathering I did and is all left to dry and wait for it's next round of painting ^^

That's about it, but to kick off the start of this project, I made a custom Ryuubi, more like a burst mode one ^^ He is also the first few kits that recieve Top Coat treatment which gives a little glossy look to it.

It's all bronze =) Lol, I made this just to finish up my bronze paint (it says gold on the bottle though). I tried to recreate the scene where Ryuubi fights Ryofu, but I didn't add Chou-I's and Kan-U's shoulder armours, maybe next time ^^

It's kinda plain, but I'm quite satisfied with the shiny and glossy look. I think I might try this on Emperor Ryuubi, with Mr Hobby colour, Aqueous metallic (gloss) Gold. I think it's gonna look better than this ^^

And finally, My custom gold Shi-Bai Sazabi has a rival! What is he gonna do? Haha, these two will be the mascots for my Sangokuden kits =)

Why Gunpla?

Many people asked me what is so fun about Gundams, Gunplas, robot thingies and some say it's childish and lame. Oh well, all I can say that it's my hobby. I just love making those kits and painting them, even though it can get pretty tired sometimes, the end results of a successful kit just puts a smile on your face. And yep, I would sometimes play them (childish?). Well, I guess you guys can say that I buy kits to decorate and play =)

How it started? I started Gundam-ing, or Gunpla-ing in 2006, yeah, not really long ago. And well, it's KF and KL who got me into this! (Blame them for all the money I spent!) LOL JKJK Anyways, my first ever kit was the NG 1/144 scale Freedom Gundam. I was so into the SEED Series back then and I bought a kit or 2(HG SEED Series) every week. I went to the net, dig info about Gundams, Gunplas and I was so excited and happy whenever a new model comes out.

After SEED, I went on to Destiny and Astray. I had really crappy skills back then, there are seam lines almost every where and stickers are always not fitted properly. There's once when I got Stargazer and I lost one of it's Volture Lumiere sticker and I didn't care, bad modelling attitude huh? But I just continued to pose it happily and try out all its features. O.O I never dared to try MG but I eventually got 1. I guess a modeler had to at least try a MG once in a lifetime heh?

What's the next level? Gundam 00 and Sangokuden are the series where I got serious about Gunpla-ing. I bought tons of 00 kits and Sango kits. I didnt like the look of unpainted Sango kits and I went on to get markers, which makes the first step of my painting skills last December. No doubt, the first few paint jobs are crap, no Top Coat, no lining, just plain meta colours. Hah, and now I came to bottle paints, sanding and light mods after lining and top coating. It's another level for me, difficult from the start, but I hope I can get as good as the pro modelers one fine day.

Talking about pro modelers, there are many out there. Some are awesome reviewers and some are just modders with skills that I can never imagine of. The reason of this post? Chubbybots inspired me to. He's one awesome modeler, even though he might not know who am I, I just admire his great skills in Gunpla-ing.

Will it end? I guess I will never stop this great hobby. Even if I'm broke, a simple Sango kit in a month or 2 will do, just makes use of simple tools and paints and it just becomes one awesome kit. The upcoming kits are really exciting, just SDs and HGs makes me go crazy for them.

And well that's it for this post, I had already exceed my computer time, AGHH!!!

Sangokuden Gaiden

Sango Gai is quite a nice series, nice designs, cool spin-off of the actual series. At first, I thought Sango Gai would be one real good line of model kits. Just like the actual Sango series, cool features, nice articulations, awesome design. I saw several images of Ryuuho and Shuutai just before it was being released. My first impression was like,"Wow, so small, where's the normal articulations from the actual series??!" and I thought it's gonna be one pathetic line of SD kits. However, I was kinda wrong. I am sure I would not buy the line of kits at first but after seeing how awesome the promotion was at the Gundam Fiesta, I thought that maybe it's worth a try, after all, it just cost a little more than 10 bucks. I was kinda pissed when I saw the price, such a small kit with the same price as usual SDs now, with less articulations, but the box art did really impressed me, and well the box art is one of the reason why I got tempted to get it.

After getting the kit and finsihing it and all that stuff, I had to say I have no regrets. Ryuuho is a really nice add on to the current line. Just by putting more effort on painting, sanding and touching up on them just works wonders. Even though there were some problems like lack of articulation and loose parts, they can be fixed easily.

I also got Shuutai just to follow the trend and see how good it is with Ryuuho, but also to also test out Mr.Hobby bottle paints. I got the paints and they really stink to high heavens but there's no doubt that they give a really good finish to your model. Shuutai is still in the making, got most of the parts done, and well, it's better than Ryuuho! Firstly, it comes with elbow joints (which is a great add in) and secondly, the features it have are just really good. It's not the best kit around but it's worth to get it.

And well, here's what I found out recently. Firstly, Ryuuho doesnt have much articulations and only comes with a couple of armours. Then, Shuutai came with elbow joints, and awesome features. Then, Kyocho came with waist joint but no elbow joints. And Juniku came with the same pathetic articulations as Ryuuho, BUT it comes with a awesome cannon thingy. So well, Bandai is kinda trying to improve this kits by adding new features when each kit are being released.

And I got to say the upcoming kits looks a hell alot better than the ones now. Yue Jin is already in my list of Gaiden kits. Batai and Bashoku looks cool and identical, so I might just get one of them. Guess I would have to skip Kyoco and Juniku. And yeah, I really hope Bandai will continue to improve the Gaiden series kits. I really hope all this improvements and stuff will be all featured in the Turn-X guy. If so, I would definitely get it.

Till then I still got a crap load of Gunplas not done and not yet bought.

SD Ryuuho completed!

Finally completed Ryuuho, took days to do so. It's a pretty decent kit, except for some loose parts and the lack of articulation. Painting is okay if you folow the box, but I did some extras to mine so I took a longer time to complete the kit. So here it is.

Yea, it's kinda blurry, guess my phone's gonna retire =)

Anyway, here it is with his B-Daman pose, his chest peice always reminds me of B-Daman shooting marbles 0.0. Did some extra paint job on the hands and the chest piece.

And this is Ryuuho without all his armour and stuff. Kinda cute and fat. xD

Basically, his weapons are just 2 swords and a stick. The swords gave me one hell of a time. The chrome silver I used kinda get scratch easily and I had to give it quite a few coats to make it look good.

His stick is really just a stick. The swords can be stuck into the ends of it and it's kinda uhh... funny. The stick with the swords are like 2 to 3 times taller than the guy...

So yeah... that's 1 kit done of the big pile. Together with SD Zaku II Ecopla, 2 kits were completed in a week. Yeah the progress is slow mostly due to the lack of paints. But well, I gonna go get some paint later, might get Mr. Hobby colour and Top Coat for the first time to try it out.

And if the above post was not enough, here's a first look at my Meng Huo, Zhu Rong and the elephant thingy set. Everything is still in progress but I've completed the Master Mammoth thingy! Kinda simple, not much painting needed but panel lining's a bunch O_O Anyway, due to the imcomplete Meng Huo and Zhu Rong, Ryuubi will be the model to show off this mammoth thingy =)

It looks pretty good but the joints are kinda loose.

Its tank mode is okay... Not amazing but not bad. I didn'tlike the idea of the tusks being bring forth to the turret so I left it onto the face.

But that's not it. Here's the one I've been really looking forward to ever since the set's announcement =)

Behold the giant armour thing...uhh.. thingy? Well, there's Ryuubi taking over the incomplete Meng Huo. I've to say this is really awesome. Articulation ain't a bunch but it's enough.

This guy came with many clear green effect parts, and this seems to be it releasing some kind of energy bolt thingy... A representation of the Shining Finger?

And yep, this is the end of the short WIP. Gotta go get my paints to start my kits, bye folks =)

It's been one hell of a Gunpla week. I got 9 kits (one is free) and 2 action bases. Hmm... and yeah, this is my biggest loot ever! Mostly because it's my birthday and another reason is that it's the Gundam Fiesta at Compass Point. So yeah, here it is...

Comes with free Eco bag ^^ And those 2 small bags you see on the left are Sangokuden bags, they are just enough to fit a HG 1/144 scale kit.

SD 0 Gundam, SD Exia R2 and one of the action base was bought a week before the fiesta. And look, there's HG 0 Gundam, can't believe I got it 1 day after the actual release date on Japan. Oh and yeah, I got SD Zaku II Ecopla just to try it out, not bad for a recycled kit, comes with Bandai hobby decals.

So yeah, that's alot of stuff for me to do. I started on SD Exia R2, SD Ryuuho and the soldier. SD Exia R2 was actually my main focus until I ran out of grey paint, and damn, it was 80% completed. Oh well, gotta wait for some time to get the paint, and maybe Top Coat and some weathering markers.

Anyways, to kill some time, I started doing Ryuuho and the soldier. Well, kinda dissapointed in Ryuuho. Yea, it looks cool and I thought the vintage architecture was fine, but not till I found some parts are loose and some hard to put together, might glue some parts together, sheesh...

Oh, Im gonna post some stuff of the Gundam Fiesta soon, I went there on the 3rd and 4th day, so don't expect to see some new stuff like the diroma of the Meng Huo set and Koumei Nu in the jungle, but the good news is, Im gonna go there again tommorow! Hahs, oh well, lets end this post with Ryuho, unpainted.

Finally able to post another Gunpla post... sheesh, fixed the damn blogger tool bar by accident and it works! Oh well, lets get on to it bahs.

Both kits were bought before me getting sick and this and the blogger thingy dragged the post till now and also, I decided to give up on Susanowo's and Arche's post...

SD Koumei Nu!

One of the kits that I spent the most sweat on. Did alot of details and a few paint mod, but I kinda screw the eye sticker. I couldn't get it to stick right and it looks a tiny bit off to the right, not a big deal bah....

Really awesome design! Not forgetting his partner, Mr Bir...uh...Mr.Phoenix =)

Different paint scheme for the eye and legs. pretty cool ^^ Had a hrad time painting gaps of legs and feets though....

And so, Mr koumei can get a ride on it and go YEE-HAW!

Other than riding on it and go fool around, the main point of the Phoenix is the combination which forms the Hi-Nu form of Koumei ^^

Other than the Hi-Nu form, both combines to form a Dragon which name I had forgotten...hehh.. the big and heavy wings are held just by a peg at the back skirts, I think that it might break if one keeps it psoing like this for too long.

The base you see at the previous picture are actually clear green effect parts which can also be an aura thingy to display Koumei with.

2) Acts as effects of the wings, lol this is aint offical, I created it heh.....

and 3) Can be used as effect part for shooting his sword out which I don't have a picture of =)

Now for the Granddad of all! RX-78-2 G30th! They made a 1/1 scale RX-78-2 in Tokyo, and I got the version of it in HG, smart move heh, Bandai?

From this view, it looks like the one in Tokyo heh? Hahas, don't mind the background =)

Beam rifle, Gundam, Hammer, Shield and even Hyper Bazooka is in! The shield has a crap load of details underneath and I detailed them with black lining marker =)

50th post! Exia R2 and O Gundam, Final Duel!

This is the 50th post and it's gonna be all about the 2 main suits of the last episode of Gundam OO Season 2- Exia R2 and O Gundam! The HG Ver. was release quite sometime ago and I only manage to complete them at the last few days of the holidays, so here it is =D

First off! Exia R2, so Exia got screwed but was fixed, and modded! Exia reborn!!!!

Tada!! Awesome design, looks like the original Exia if you dont see it clearly ^^
I had panel lined everything and painted everything that is not painted =D Used metallic green for all the clear pieces. Applying yellow on the small vents on the cheek is really a pain. It's so freaking small and i had to use toothpicks to scrap the extra paint away, just in case the remover got flowed into the whole vent and screwed everything.

Awesome GN Sword Kai here! Actually, it's just the GN Sword getting modded to the GN Sword 3, but it's called GN sword Kai('Gai') which means 'changed' or 'modified' in chinese or japanese if Im not wrong. I prefer this version of the GN Sword... Awesome clear green piece. However, I still wanna get the Trans-Am Raiser!!! It's GN-Sword III looks good, nonetheless, the gloss injecton effect and extra beam effects.... Sheesh, might be on my Birthday list together with HGUC Hi-Nu =D

I dont really like the design of the rifle mode. It just looks so weak in my opinion. My i love how the GN Sword got mount onto Exia's arm, feels like the whole thing got wrapped onto his hand 0_0

ahh, gotta say this is one of the nicest kits in my 00 section in my wardrobe. Not just that it's painted, the traditional look of a Gundam is just too awesome, not forgetting the kick-ass GN Sword Kai =D And also its GN Drive in full burst mode, releasing GN Particles everywhere! AWESOME!

Now it's for the RX-78-... Eh no, it's the 0 Gundam!

GN Particle Storage Tank.... Looks good but dont like it =)

Beam Pistol shines! Never expect a suit that resembles the RX-78-2 to have a Beam Pistol. Oh yeah, and I painted the clear piece of the chest Meta Green and black for all the vents. The vents are quuite a pain =( Im sure I panel lined everything =)

Ribbons trying to get Setsuna! And yeah, that's the famous beam saber! The kit comes with 2 clear pink beams, whereas, it only needs one. Therefore, you can give the other beam part to Exia R2 as it comes with the solid white beam which sucks. I cant blame Bandai though, the Exia R2 is just a little different from the oringinal Exia, and Bandai, trying to cut cost here and there, doesnt seem to find a need to change the saber O_o Oh well...

Kae, so here's finally Cao Pi, completed it during holis but didnt have the time to post at all. Ah, wth, anyways, Cao Pi took me about 2-3 days of work if im not wrong. Here's the unpainted pic of it without the armour and stuff....

Hey guys! Finally back for another posting! Ive been slacking alot lately... School started and hmwk suck big time.... oh well, anyways, lets get to the point for today!

Saw a newspaper article on the Real G Project at one of the park in Tokyo, Japan. First time seeing such a big article on Gundam for the chinese newspaper, lols...
Anyways, the Real G project released the HGUC RX-78-2 Gundam ver. 30th and SD RX-78-2 Gundam ver. 30th, and to follow the trend, it's gonna be all on the granddaddy of all, SD Style- Perfect style =D

SD RX-78-2 Gundam!!!

Looks identical to the recent release of SD RX-78-2 Gundam Anime Ver. heh? You think it is? Really?! Hah! No, its not. This is actually the Perfect Gundam, without the armour. And of course, I cant get Gunpla that fast haha....

And yea, I guess ppl shuld know that the just released version of this has exactly the same mould, except the weapons... Anyways... lets get started!

For the Perfect Gundam, the beam rifle is not included, which is rather disapointing.... Only weapons for the Gundam are the beam sabers and the shield.
Oh well.... but if ya get the new 30ver. one, it comes with a newly molded beam rifle and shield =)

Extra beam saber borrowed from the SD Full Armour Gundam, and the Granddaddy seems to bo doing a ballet like pose 0.0

Comparison with the Full Armour without his armour =X they are identical in every aspect expect for the colours. Oh and yeah! I painted and panel lined the tiny "V" on the RX-78-2's waist while I used sticker on the Full Armour, coz I didnt have a marker that's orange...

Hah! It's first week of school this week. And well, nothing special... Oh yeah! Almost forgot! I self promote myself to be IT Head! HAW HAW!!! I was actually IT assit abut YK became Cleanliness head so I just volunteer to take the job as not to get in for other any post xD

Anyways, first week and Im still slacking, not much homework but I'm busy over the book review and holiday powerpoint prestation. The book one is done but the holi one is not. Left abit, coz I gotta take pics of Sentosa from XY or Denise.

Oh well... nothing much here, hmmm... here's a summary of my holis...

1) Gunpla, haha completed 8 Gunplas and repainted about 2 I think, I rushed about 4 Gunplas on week 2, pro heh?
2) Homework and projects... This one I have nothing to say lahs....
3) Outing! Went out with Perc mates and Falcons! Both was really fun! Hope to have more of these =D
4) Preparation for investiture. Did cards and baking for it but it was cancelled the day after the baking -.- Luckily the cakes and cookies were given out liao...

Hah so that's for me, gonna go watch TV, tatas!

Yay! Went to Senior Yoke Ling house yesterday to bake cookies, make jelly and a cake for the Perc Sebiors on investiture. Senior Brandon overslept and came around 12 and Isabel forgotten all about the DNA thingy and came at 10, but later came back at 11+.
I went to school at 7+ for the DNA thingy and still need take temperature. I was like ok... nvm but such a queue pisses me D=

Anyways, left school at 10.30 and went to CP, waited all the way to 12+ before starting our baking spree. WA! I tell you Senior Yoke Ling house was so big and so Awesome! So nice! 2 Stories and 1 Garden! WAAA If, Im 6 or 7 years younger, I would be a monkey there >_< We make they jelly first and Brandon and I had to stir the jelly mixture for avt 15mins? Put cubes in it and pour all the mixture into the mould. Went to left it to dry on a table but there's one hole at one of the mould. The mixture drip and drip. And when it solidify, the jelly that dripped on the table solidify too!

See!! Like crop circle seh! =D

After this, I went to wash all the pots and stuff. Countless forks and spoons and a KNIFE! LOL

Firt time washing so many stuff! >_< And this is not it =P

After washing, slack awhile and then went to see how the baking of cookies went. LOL The cookies looks like Sh** It's brown, watery, and shaped like a sh** LOL! Brandon and Isabel had to make them into shapes and letters then off it went to the oven! After shaping, thier hands are full of the brown thingies, looks disgusting D=

After that, everything's done. And off we went to play the com. Brandon saw Audition and told Isabel to help him play. Isabel's like hacking when she play lo! Even thought I dun like Audi, she's really pro. At about 5.40, I went to watch Bao Lian Deng! Last episode, cant afford to miss it! But till 6.10, we had to go and off we go =D Reached home at about 6.40~ home sweet home =D

But then, I just recieved news that the investiture for tmr is cancelled, WTF?! F!! Hell......Anyways, that's about it, Cya ppl!

SD Frenzy!!!!

Its the June holidays!!! And well, lots of homework and project.. completed more than half already but still slacking >_< Anyways, it's been really a enjoyable holiday, excluding homework time... Went out with Per Sect and Falcons ^^ Was really fun!! Anyways todays all about Gunpla, SD Gunpla ^^
By the way, this month, Bandai went nuts they release all the Gunplas Ive been waiting for! Sango, HGOO or Keroro!! ALL I want de!!! Well, out of 5 Gunplas of this month, I only bought 2- 0 Gundam(Type A.C.D) and Cao Pi Gundam!!! Anyways the main point today aint them at all, but the Gunplas from last month and last last month Garhh ^^
First of all, to follow the trend!!
Its Joukyo Serpent! Really awesome kit! My fav character after Gan Ning, Joukyo just look so awesome! Its a must buy for Sango fans, especially it's wings which add on to Cao Cao and forms Emperor Cao Cao!

I think it's one of my best paint job I ever did ^^ I wasnt gonna do light blue for the scarf at first coz I only have meta blue marker and lacked white. I used red but unexpectedly, I went to my local Hobby Store the next day and bought all the markers I need, together with Cao Pi ^^
Erased the red and painted blue, with a few coats of white to create light blue (Obvious huh?)

Lol work in progress ^^ Markers and parts lying around. I think my gold gonna die again.... So many gold here and there... wth cant Bandai just produce the right Gold colour? Wad's wrong with them Garhh >_<

Fav weapon for this kit! The bow from her waist and a very nice arrow! Paint arrow using Yellow and through this, I found that Bandai's gold for Sango is 90% yellow... what the.... I wasnt expecting it to be so Yellowish.

Lastly, the apron of hers sure add points to her cuteness! There's 6 eye stickers for her with different expressions =D I applied the normal one though I was thinking to put on a wink, but nah.....

Nice apron! There's 2 designs and have to cut it on your own zzz, but it's really nice!

Anyways, lets end Sangokuden with the ever exciting Gundam 00! SD 00 Raiser!!!!!!
Very nice kit. Coz 20+ bucks for the set, kinda expensive though... 8+ bucks for bigger box, foil stick and only a tree =( I felt kinda cheated D= But well, it's an awesome kit, very nice, really nice!!! I had a 00 Gundam before, therefore, I painted the 00 this time into Trans-Am!!! Will post it later, now for 00 Raiser!

And yea! Trans-Am all fully painted by me! 2 weeks of work, countless toothpicks and tissue paper are used in the making =D I sharpened the GN Daggers ^^ Added Fluorescent Green to tip of all blades as GN Particles =D Gold was used for the yellow parts =D

Anyways, here's the story of the making. Firstly, I wanted to do Trans-Am but didnt dare to, wanted to spray paint but again didnt dare and didnt know how to D= I tried using my Meta Red marker one fateful day and I thot , it might work! I painted blue with meta red and for white parts, I applied red and wipe off with tissue, giving a faded pink effect. But soon, I found that the "pink" would not stay. I tried applying white and OH MY GOD, it worked! Looks alot like pink and stays like a tree stuck on the ground =D but, in the progress, many stuff happened. My white died, I had to cut it up and use a brush to take the paint out and paint. The white died horribly >_< Also, I screw the eye sticker while applying white. I took it off and apply Fluroescent Green and Meta Green! Mixed together and produced the eye green colour =D

Trans-Am Raiser!!!! Haha, 0 Raiser aint going Trans-Am...

The week of Sangokuden!

Ah 3 Gunplas in 2 days and might be the last for the month D= But well, all of them are from Sango and surprisingly, I got Cao Pi, which was just released yesterday =D
Xu Huang and Sun Shang Xiang are both on my table now with Xu Huang half completed =D

God damn hell!!! I saw Exia R2 too just now beside Cao Pi but it was so out of my budget and I only bought Cao Pi... Also!!! 0 Gundam is nowhere to be seen, I think some guy bought it before I came Gunpla hunting... FFFFFF!!!!!

It's GSS now and I hope to get Exia R2, 0 Gundam and Susanowo but end of GSS. That's it for now, byebye!!

Perc's Out!

Woooooo!!!!! Just came back from Perc Sect Outing! It was very fun, especially the end(even though everyone's very panic) Anyways, too let you guys know the situation clearer, I'd split this post into parts =D

1) I reached CP at 9.30am and yeah, I'm the first one. Soon, everyone came and at about 10+, we set off to meet Senior Bernita and Senior Daphne at East Coast!!! When we reached the bus stop, WeiQi told us she lost her wallet. We then went back to CP to find it but to no avail =( After that, we went to East Coast and started our "adventurous trip".

2) The bus ride was a pain. Seating on the bus for about an hour and oh my god, it's pissing me. We arrived at Parkway Parade and walked to East Coast.

3) We reached East Coast in a few minutes and went to find Senior Bernita and Senior Daphne. We were quite lost actually, but we managed to find them about an hour later D= The walking was quite fun though =D

4) After we found Daphne and Bernita, we went to rent our bikes. I didn't know how to cycle, therefore, Senior Brandon rent a double bike with me and soon, we set off to Subway!!!

5) I didn't know what to eat at Subway at first. It was my first time eating there and well, the proportion of the meal looks very big to me. I bought a set and well, tried to stuff the sandwich in my mouth, leaving 2 cookies untouched. After I ate, I was bored and took some pics. Senior Brandon went to fetch Senior Germaine with the double bike, he was lost for quite a moment, hahs. Oh and yeah, Senior Jason left after eating because of school =( Oh well...

6) Finally!! Off to cycle!! Yeah!!!! Even though I duno how to cycle, I had lots of fun on the double bike. Senior Brandon was the one who balanced, guiding the directions and pedaling. While I just help pedal behind him =D We also cycled to a spot where we went up a Garden (I think?), it has a very nice view and I took some pics.

After almost an hour of cycling, we had to return the bike and we went back to the rental store. On our way back, we bought some juices to refresh ourselves. We cycle cycle and cycle when suddenly, a group of ppl was ahead of us. It was quite scary when Senior Brandon suddenly turned right. everyone managed to dodged them except Senior Yoke Ling. Poor her, she fell and her bike toppled. I was like OMG when I turned and looked, somewhat like a scene in the movies. Everyone stopped thier bikes and ran to her, luckily, she only suffered a few bruises on her arm. The group of ppl took thier First Aid Box and help treat her bruises. Soon, we left on our bikes again and returned them.

7) It was almost 4pm when we left the place. I thought it was quite early and was reluctant to go home. We walked quite a few minutes and we were out of East Coast. We were deciding where to go but well, everyone didn't have much money left.

8) Senior Jun Kiat left in Bus 43 while all of us went to take Bus 48, which terminates at Buona Vista. Senior Daphne, Senior Bernita, Senior Corliss and Senior Germaine went to catch a movie while Senior Brandon, Senior Yoke Ling, Senior Apple, WeiQi and I was left on the bus, wanting to go home. We sat on the bus for anout an hour, passing by many streets and roads. We wanted to stop at Little India or Chinatown to take the MRT home but we couldn't find the station. We soon found ourselves making our way to Buona Vista! We were LOOOOSSSTTTT!!!! OMG OMG, Senior Yoke Ling, Senior Brandon, WeiQi and I was very panic, except Apple, still listening to his songs haha. We joked and panic and soon found ourselves at the terminating stop. We were totally lost. The bus captain then told us to take bus 95 to the Buona Vista interchange but instead we took 47!!! Lucky us, we found the station, took the train, changed to the NE line and went straight home!!!

9) The train was crowded with ppl. I dropped off at SengKang, together with Senior Brandon and Yoke Ling and I took bus 83 home. It was about 6.30pm when I reached home and yeah! Home Sweet Home!!!!

I have to say it's been very fun today. First time out with Perc Sect =D Oh well, that's about it, have to play Halo now haha byebye!
